- A business email (Gmail works fine to start)
- 4-6 hours of your time
Step 1: Sign Up for Shopify
1Create your Shopify account
Go to Shopify.com and click "Start free trial". Enter your email, password, and store name. Choose "I'm just starting" when asked about your business.
Step 2: Add Your First Product
2Add products to your store
- Go to Products → Add product
- Enter product title and description
- Upload product images (use high-quality photos)
- Set price and inventory
- Click "Save"
Step 3: Choose a Theme

Go to Online Store → Themes. Choose a free theme (Dawn is excellent) or buy a premium one. Customize colors, fonts, and layout to match your brand.
Step 4: Set Up Payments
4Configure payment gateways
Go to Settings → Payments. Enable Shopify Payments (easiest) or add PayPal, Stripe, or other gateways. This is how you'll get paid!
Step 5: Set Up Shipping
5Configure shipping rates
Go to Settings → Shipping and delivery. Set up shipping zones and rates. You can offer free shipping, flat rates, or calculated rates based on weight.
Step 6: Launch Your Store
6Remove password protection
Go to Online Store → Preferences. Scroll down and uncheck "Enable password". Your store is now live!
